The new release includes several important options that allow you to use the Wowza Streaming Engine in conjunction with the Wowza Video cloud platform. Closer product integration will allow Wowza Video to offload all the complexity of streaming system scaling to Wowza Video while continuing to use its own Wowza Streaming Engine as a publishing point and media server for local broadcasts.

In the new release, efforts continue to refine AMD Xilinx Alveo U30 GPU transcoding feature. Several software bugs leading to a crash in the transcoding process have been fixed.

But for us, the most valuable change in this release is the fixes in the work of the transcoder with the Nvidia GPU, since in versions of Wowza starting from 4.8.14 to 4,8,22. there was a drop in the performance of the transcoder and the freezing of the transcoding process with an increase in load, without subsequent normalization of work after reducing the number of streams. The results of our testing, which can be found here, showed that in version 4.8.23 this problem no longer occurs.
